DESCRIPTION:‘Christmas D:REAM’ as chart toppers set to turn on Darwen lights\nA Jam-packed programme of family friendly local and professional performers will take to the stage this year and all of this is for FREE!\nBlackburn with Darwen Council and Darwen Town Council have teamed up with Crafty Vintage to ensure the 2022 event is a real Christmas cracker!\nThe packed programme will start at 10am on Saturday, November 19th, with the opening of the festive market.\nThere, you can expect an enticing array of crafters, makers and collectors – all offering a huge selection of bespoke festive treasures and treats.\nPlus there’ll be a street food courtyard to tempt your taste buds as well as Christmas cocktails, hot chocolate and mulled wine! \nThe markets, alongside the stalls in the Market Hall and surrounding shops, offer the perfect chance to do some Christmas shopping while supporting small businesses.\nThere’ll also be an enchanting variety of free entertainment, including:\n\nFather Christmas storytelling at 11am, 1pm and 3pm in Darwen Market \nPerformances on the stage by talented local singers from Darwen School of Music and gifted dancers from Lancashire Dance Academy from 2pm\nAn IceGlitz performance of The Elves and the Toy Maker\nThe entertainment will be compered by acclaimed burlesque singer, Kiki Deville ( https://www.kikideville.com/ ).\n\nAs the countdown to the lights nears, it’ll be time for the headline act to take to the stage…\nChartoppers D:REAM first came to prominence with the euphoric single “U R the Best Thing” in the summer of 1992, an anthemic piano-house tune remixed by Sasha was Pete Tong‘s Essential Tune of 1992.\n“Things Can Only Get Better ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Things_Can_Only_Get_Better_(D:Ream_song) )” gave the group their first chart success and became number one in 1994.  \nAfter D:REAM has dazzled the crowd, it’ll be time for the main event – the Darwen Christmas lights switch-on at around 6pm! \nThe festive markets will remain open until 8pm, so you can enjoy an evening browse while warmed by our newly illuminated Christmas lights and background vocals from Kiki deVille.\n \nWhy not enter into the festive spirit and dress up as an elf or Christmas character?
