DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nCommunities Day is part of Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Literature Festival which is back by popular demand. It will take place from 4th to 10th June this year, with an exciting range of authors and artists ready to work with local school children during the week.  As in previous years, there’ll be a range of public events outside school hours which everyone is welcome to attend.\n\n\n\n\n\nCommunities Day, Saturday 8th June\nDarwen Library, 10 am – 1 pm\nMeet Donovan Christopher, aka ‘Rappaman’ and author Christina Gabbitas in Darwen Library from 10 am.  Donovan will be performing in Darwen Library Theatre with a special performance from 11 am – 12 pm, while Christina Gabbitas will be available to chat about the festival’s Wellbean competition for primary age children, and the national county lines and knife crime initiative for children age 12+.  \nAll children who attend on the day will be given a FREE book, while stocks last.\nRead Aloud Proud with African Rapping Poet Donavan Christopher aka Rappaman Tickets, Sat, Jun 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM | Eventbrite\nDarwen Children’s Literature Festival Communities Day Tickets, Sat, Jun 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM | Eventbrite\nPlease note that all events in the Children’s Literature Festival are free of charge, but advance booking is advisable either on Eventbrite or by collecting a ticket from the library to avoid disappointment on the day.\n\n\n
