Free Weaving Workshop with Fawziyah Raja
As part of our Free Autumn Fun programme, discover the art of weaving. Unleash your inner artist and explore the captivating world of weaving in our immersive workshop.
Whether you’re a seasoned weaver or a complete beginner, this hands-on experience is designed to inspire and empower you to create beautiful textile art.
You will get the opportunity to experiment with various weaving techniques, colours, and textures to craft your unique masterpiece have guidance through the basics of weaving, from setting up your loom to selecting the perfect yarn.
Allowing you to share the joy of crafting with fellow participants and take home your one-of-a-kind woven creation to be used as whatever you want; i.e. as a coaster, wall hanging or table top display!

About Fawziyah Raja
Fawziyah is a pattern and textiles artist designer. She is the owner and creative director of small business, FR pattern textiles; founded in 2016.
Specialising as an artisan arts and crafts business; owned and operated by one woman; producing unique quality surface pattern designs full of colour and patterns for soft furnishings, stationery, fashion, jewellery and art.
All lovingly handmade in every aspect for the home & lifestyle market.
With a background in fine art, a degree and masters degree in pattern, crafts and design; Fawziyah hopes to bring a sparkle of joy through hard work, skill, dedication and craftmanship to every piece.
All handmade textile products, ranging from backpacks to soft furnishing are available to purchase at here.
This is a drop in activity from 11am until 3pm at Darwen Market.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
This is a free workshop brought to the markets with funding from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Arts Council England.
