Darwen Live 2026
The UK’s biggest free music festival will be descending on Darwen over the late May bank holiday weekend, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May 2026. Local upcoming bands along with household names will be taking the main stage on Darwen Market Square, with several venues across the town centre also hosting an array of artists.

1500 – CAROL HODGE BAND
With her roots and ethics firmly set in punk as a long-term collaborator with Crass frontman Steve Ignorant, Carol is currently touring the songs of Crass around the world with The Ignorant Band, on keyboards, BVs and lead vocals. 1800 – A CERTAIN RATIO
Formed in 1978 with a core line-up of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop and Donald Johnson, A Certain Ratio emerged from the hallowed grounds of the late 70s punk scene, and from that day on they’ve moved forwards with gleeful disregard for the boundaries of style and genre. The 8-piece Midlands-based Soul band Stone Foundation celebrate over 25 years of success. 1400 – GEORGIA BARKER

Alt-rock band Redearth play the main stage for the first time after a mix up last year meant they missed out. 1615 – PRETTY SHIVERS
Pretty Shivers don’t look or sound like your typical Northern Rock band. Although they hail from the dark, misty valleys of Darwen, you’d be forgiven for eyeballing the flares, leather jackets and haircuts, and placing them at Los Angeles’ sunset strip in the 1970s. https://prettyshivers.com/
1700 – THE SKAPONES
Their second appearance at Darwen Live T he Skapones are a 2Tone INSPIRED original Ska band based in the Tees Valley in England. 2045 – THE ORDINARY BOYS
In 2004 Preston and the boys launched onto the scene with their debut album “Over the Counter Culture” inspired by the likes of The Specials and Madness, the band went on to release their second and most successful album “Brassbound” featuring the hit single Boys Will Be Boys.
