Ramadan Kareem

Inspired by her own childhood and the book ‘Drummer Girl’ by Hiba Masood, Hina The Storyteller invites everyone to enjoy a tale about Ramadan.

Ramadan Kareem is one girl’s inspiring story of determination and self-belief. During the blessed month of Ramadan in Karachi every family is awoken to the sound of drumming. This is the sound of the neighbourhood dhol wala, beating his drum as he walks through the streets to awaken the neighbourhood for the pre-dawn meal before a long day of fasting.

There has never been a girl dhol wala until one day… everything changed.

Duration is 20 min and after the performance, optional play with the drums and Q & A.

A henna artist will be available for post-show henna design if you wish to have one.
