Darwen District Scouts Annual St George’s Day Parade
Join us for the annual Darwen District Scouts St George’s Day Parade in Darwen on Sunday, 27th April 2025!
This vibrant community event will feature members of the Darwen District Scout Association, GirlGuiding UK, and the Darwen Brass Band.
The St. George’s Day Parade will begin at 3:00 PM as the Darwen Brass Band leads the procession from George Street. Marching along Duckworth St, Market St, Parliament St, Railway Rd, and Church St, the parade will make its way to St Peter’s C of E Church for a special service to honor St George, the Patron Saint of England and Scouting worldwide.
All members of the Scouting Association & GirlGuiding UK will reaffirm their promise in the church, as part of the service.
With approximately 250 young people (ages 6-18) supervised by 60 Scout leaders and 20 marshals (wearing hi-vis jackets), this will be a lively and well-organised event.
After the service, the parade will reassemble at Church Street and, at around 3:45 PM, will march back to George Street following the reverse route.
Don’t miss this chance to celebrate England’s patron saint with the community!
