The festive season is here once again, and luckily for Darwen families, that means more free Christmas fun at Darwen Market!
Three fantastic free events have been organised by the Culturapedia team, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and Blackburn with Darwen council, and there’s something to get everyone into the festive spirit…
CREATE TOGETHER: Letters To Santa
Saturday 17th December, 11 AM – 3 PM
“DEAR SANTA…”
We’ve all made a list for Santa; we’ve crossed our fingers and can’t wait until Christmas morning.
But who fills Santa’s stocking or puts presents under the tree at the North Pole?
This is your chance to think about what the big man himself would like for Christmas. Come and join us in making a special wish for Santa.
Suitable for ages 5+ (adult supervision required).
MAKE & TAKE HOME: Winter Wreath Making
Monday 19th December, 11 AM – 3 PM
Come and explore fabric collage and make your own winter flora and fauna decorative hoop.
Snow Day textiles will guide you through the process of using repurposed fabrics, drawn and stitched techniques to create a fun decoration to celebrate the winter season.
Suitable for ages 5+ (adult supervision required)
WATCH LIVE SHOWS: Musical Mayhem with Bread & Butter Theatre
Wednesday 21st December, 11 AM – 3 PM
MUSICAL MAYHEM
There’ll be plenty of musical mayhem in the market this Christmas with a visit from the Carol singing Christmas Crackers.
They will be wandering around the market, serenading stall holders and shoppers in their own madcap style – a Christmas treat for all the family.
