The mission of the #shopdarwen campaign is to support and champion independent Darwen Town Centre businesses, and we’re delighted to have longstanding Darwen-based ironmongers, James Gibson, on board.
Operating for over 130 years, this family run company has seen many eras of the British high street, and has adapted to remain a thriving business to this day.
A huge selection of products and services
James Gibson began as a traditional ironmongers, selling handcrafted iron goods, but they now offer a vast range of innovative products and services set over two floors, including DIY and trade supplies, workwear, hand and power tools, loose fixings, paint (including mixing), PPE, embroidery and print, footwear and much more. Whether you’re a DIY novice or an expert tradesperson, their friendly and experienced team are more than happy to assist.
Support an independent Darwen-based retailer
Nothing beats the convenience of being able to visit a physical shop in person to receive the advice and purchase the supplies that you need for your next project. The handy Darwen Town Centre location of James Gibson (across the road from Duckworths Estate Agents, next to Temple of Fun play centre) makes it even easier to visit. There is plenty of free parking nearby, too.
