Need to keep the kids entertained while you do your Christmas shopping in Darwen Town Centre? The Shop Darwen Christmas Trail is the perfect solution…
Find the festive drawings around town, complete the trail and hand in your worksheet for a chance of winning £20 worth of Shop Darwen vouchers!
Created in collaboration with talented window artist, Lucie Cooke, this simple festive activity involves finding 31 drawings at 31 #shopdarwen retailers, filling out a worksheet and then posting it in the Shop Darwen postbox in Darwen Market. There’s also a fun Christmas tree drawing to colour in if you wish.
One lucky winner will be chosen at random in January and will receive £20 of vouchers to spend at any Shop Darwen business – it could be spent on toys at GoGo Games, sweeties from Sweet Vintage, adorable gifts at By Erin, or at any of our 33 participating retailers.
Lucie has drawn an eye-catching selection of baubles, fairy lights, angels, stars and candy canes. Some are on chalkboards, and some are on shop windows. Tick them off as you find them and write down the total of each that you find!
You’ll recognise Lucie’s distinctive style, as she was the artist behind the Shop Darwen Tower Trail in the summer, plus the stunning seasonal windows at Fourteen Market Street, including The Big Summer Draw, the autumn window in collaboration with Ashleigh School and Avondale School, and the current Christmas window, which is based on a winning design by an Ashleigh School pupil.
Worksheets for The Shop Darwen Christmas Trail can be picked up from the activity space in Darwen Market Hall. Look out for the chalkboard directing you to the pick-up point. If you can’t find the trail worksheets, they are available from the market office in the annexe. Let a market attendant know that you would like one and they will be happy to help you.
Take part in The Shop Darwen Christmas Trail alongside several more family friendly festive activities in Darwen Town Centre. Darwen Rotary Club’s Santa’s Grotto is open every Saturday until Christmas and Monday 23rd from 10am till 3pm, and from 10am till 1pm on Christmas Eve. We also have free festive facepainting in the market on Saturday 21st – why not get your own festive illustration to match Lucie’s?
We also have several primary school choirs in Darwen Market on Fridays throughout December, which will provide extra entertainment for any preschoolers taking part in The Shop Darwen Christmas Trail.

Spend £5 or over at a participating shop, and you’re eligible for entry into the monthly prize draw.
