Introducing Lounge 55, Darwen’s newest coffee bar, and the latest retailer to join the successful #shopdarwen campaign!
This chic and cosy coffee lounge is the brainchild of Louise and Alex, the duo behind Interior 55 (which is their new name for Darwen Carpets) on Bolton Road in Darwen Town Centre.
A genius new concept for Darwen Town Centre
It’s a simple yet genius concept; a luxurious coffee bar set within their flooring and furnishings showroom, serving both excellent coffees and a selection of beers and wine, and with extended opening hours.
Now visitors can enjoy a delicious drink and a speciality pastry or doughnut in stunning surroundings, and browse the decor while doing so, as everything, from the lighting to the wall decor, is on sale!

The refreshments at Lounge 55 are far from ordinary, sourcing the very best local and regional treats for visitors to enjoy.
Artisanal pastries from The Butterholic
The pastries and doughnuts in question are seriously special. Lounge 55 makes the trip over to Liverpool five times a week to pick up handcrafted goods by The Butterholic. These gourmet pastries are a true labour love, taking three days to create and made with real passion for excellent Viennoiseries.
Legendary Local Treats and Speciality Coffee
Speciality doughnuts are provided by Preston legends, Holy Grounds. There’s plenty of tempting flavours and toppings, plus lots of vegan options, all handmade in Bamber Bridge.
Alongside your sweet treat there’s a large selection of coffees, both hot and iced, to choose from, using freshly roasted beans by DC Coffee in Burnley. If you don’t fancy a coffee, then there’s indulgent Parisian-style hot (or iced) chocolates, plus matcha and chai. Also available is Poretti and Aspall on draught, along with a selection of bottles and wine.

You can also be sure of a warm welcome from Louise, Alex and the rest of the team, alongside delicious refreshments. Louise and Alex have been a part of Darwen’s independent business community for many years, with Darwen Carpets being a household name in the area. They’re dab hands at providing excellent, reliable service, and customers are singing the praises of Lounge 55 after just a few weeks of opening.
They’ve had lots of questions about whether Darwen Carpets has closed, and they want to reassure you that no, it’s definitely not closed! Darwen Carpets is now known as Interior 55, and you’ll find them in the same place as before. What’s more, Interior 55 has also joined Shop Darwen, so there’s even more opportunity to collect entry forms for the prize draw!
How does the Shop Darwen prize draw work?
When you spend £5 or over at either Lounge 55 or Interior 55, you’re eligible for a #shopdarwen prize draw entry form. Simply write on your details and post your form in the post box in Darwen Market. Each month a winner is chosen at random who wins £50 in vouchers to spend at any Shop Darwen retailer… that’s plenty of pastries!

Lounge 55’s current opening hours are Monday & Tuesday 8:30am – 5pm, and Wednesday to Sunday 9 – 9, but keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram for any changes. They have lots of exciting plans in the works, so give them a follow to stay in the loop!
