We’re evolving to showcase the very best of our whole town, from community events to local businesses, while still proudly championing our town centre. Our new name is already in use on our social channels, and soon we’ll have a brand new website, too.

Why are you changing the name?
The Darwen Town Centre brand was due an upgrade, and switching to Discover Darwen just felt right! Discover Darwen will better represent the whole town and all the exciting things happening in Darwen, while continuing to support the town centre.
Is the town centre still important?
Absolutely, the town centre remains a key part of Darwen’s identity and offering to both the local community and to visitors. Shouting about the great goings-on throughout the whole of Darwen will benefit the town centre, and vice versa.
What’s actually changing?
The new branding is more of a natural evolution of the Darwen Town Centre brand, rather than a total change. You’ll see updated social handles, a refreshed visual identity, wider storytelling and a shiny new website launching later this summer.
Will this affect events/services?
No, existing activity will continue, and you can look forward to upcoming events such as free summer holiday family activities, Darwen Festival of Fun, and more. Our updated brand identity will give us additional opportunities to showcase more of the town – be sure to get in touch if you have an event you’d like us to share!
Is the #shopdarwen scheme changing?
No, the scheme will remain the same. While Shop Darwen will remain focused on independent town centre retailers within the daytime economy, the Discover Darwen rebrand will provide more scope for us to champion local businesses, events and organisations all across Darwen through other channels, such as our website, social pages and email newsletter.
