Community crochet classes & crafting socials
Dawn hosts crochet classes each week, which have been a huge hit with the local community, so much so that she has had to create a waiting list for new members. In today’s online world, it’s clear that people crave connection and conversation with others, and a hobby that takes them away from screens and back to a more “analogue” way of doing things.
A casual monthly social event is hosted at the shop on the last Friday of the month, too. Everybody is welcome to bring their latest craft project, have a chat and a cup of tea in a relaxed environment. Join the Facebook group to stay up to date!

Mimi & Bee is a real community hub for Darwen’s vibrant community of crafters, and shoppers can rely on honest advice from Dawn and Sara, whether you need help picking the best yarn or fabric for an upcoming project, or are a total novice looking to dip your toes into a new creative hobby.
The move to Bridge Street
The shop has been on Bridge Street for a year, having moved from their previous shop on Duckworth Street. Their “new” location is nearby fellow #shopdarwen retailers including Tower Records and Darwen Community Helpers, and Dawn says they’ve been made to feel incredibly welcome on the street, and in Darwen as a whole, to which she is infinitely thankful.
